Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Arborist role based in the City of Edinburgh. The Arborist will carry out a range of tree work, including pruning, felling, crown reductions, and removals in line with industry standards and safety regulations. Daily activities include assessing tree health and structure, identifying potential hazards, and recommending appropriate treatments or interventions. The role involves operating and maintaining arboricultural equipment and machinery, completing site risk assessments, and ensuring all tasks comply with health and safety policies. The Arborist will work as part of a team to deliver high-quality services to a variety of clients, while maintaining accurate records of work completed and communicating effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills and experience in Arboriculture and be a Certified Arborist or hold equivalent professional certification.
- Candidates should possess strong Tree Identification skills and practical experience working with Trees in urban and rural environments.
- Candidates should possess knowledge and experience in Forestry practices, including safe work methods and environmental stewardship.
- Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or higher arboriculture or forestry certificate/diploma, and industry-recognized climbing and chainsaw certifications (e.g., NPTC or LANTRA).
- Demonstrated understanding of health and safety regulations, risk assessment, and safe use of arboricultural equipment and machinery.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, perform physically demanding tasks, and collaborate effectively within a team.
- A valid UK driving licence, preferably with towing entitlement, is highly beneficial.
