Rail Operator (Shunter) – Training & Growth Path

GB Railfreight is seeking Rail Operators (Shunters) to safely marshal wagons and locomotives, perform ground operations, and coordinate with Drivers and Yard Managers to keep freight services running on time. Training at Peterborough lasts five weeks, after which you’ll be released to your home depot.

During training you will earn £23,567; once qualified, the basic salary rises to £41,388 per year. A strong commitment to safety, teamwork and clear communication are essential, plus a UK manual
