Workshop Technician – Construction
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Workshop Technician, Building Services for our Construction team at the Rhyl campus. This is a fixed‑term position for 2 years.
The Role
A practical, varied role where you will work closely with teaching staff and learners to ensure a safe, effective, and organised workshop environment. You will support the next generation of tradespeople through demonstrations, instruction, and supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement Health and Safety measures within the workshop, ensuring full compliance.
- Prepare and maintain equipment, tools, and materials for lessons and demonstrations.
- Set up rigs and training areas under the guidance of lecturers.
- Assist with practical assessments, student observations, and technical demonstrations.
- Manage stock levels, place orders, and maintain accurate inventories.
- Collaborate with other Technicians to ensure all facilities remain in excellent condition.
Benefits
- Weekly hours: 37 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (during the college term).
- Annual leave: 28 days per annum, rising to 32 days after 5 full holiday years continuous service (01 September to 31 August).
- Public holidays: Normally observed public holidays, determined annually.
- Efficiency closure days: Up to 5 days per annum, determined annually.
- Part‑time contracts receive a pro‑rated entitlement to the above.
- Term‑time contracts receive a pro‑rated entitlement as part of the annual salary.
