PE SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

Fixed Term: one year (continuous until 31.08.2027)

Salary: Grade 5 SCP 7 – 9 – £22,378 – £23,100 pa (pending pay award)

Hours: 37 per week, Monday to Friday, term time only, 193 days

Responsibilities

• Support staff and students in practical and theory PE lessons.
• Assist with the delivery of extra‑curricular sport and fixtures.
• Help promote participation in a wide range of physical activities across the school.
• Prepare, maintain and organise sports equipment, facilities and resources to ensure lessons and activities run safely and effectively.
• Work closely with teachers and students; be proactive, well‑organised, resilient and good humoured, enjoying working with young people aged 13–18.

Qualifications

• A passion and interest in a broad range of sports and physical activities.
• Experience of coaching young people.
• Relevant coaching qualifications (advantageous).

Professional Development

Participate in a weekly training programme alongside teachers and other classroom‑based support staff.
