Retail Store Assistant Newport Superstore

Retail Store Assistant role at Cancer Research UK’s Newport Superstore. Reports to Shop Manager. Permanent, part‑time position of 8 hours per week over two 4‑hour shifts. Pay: £12.71 per hour plus benefits. Closing date: Tuesday 14th July 2026 23:55. Internal title: Shop Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer and supporter service.
• Work as integral part of shop team to achieve ambitious sales and fundraising targets.
• Assist in maintaining shop standards including visual presentation, safeguarding compliance and health and safety.
• Create relationships with local community and Cancer Research UK colleagues.
• Support fundraising events to achieve fundraising targets.
• Take keyholder responsibility as required (training will be provided).
• Perform varied manual handling and physical activity as required within day‑to‑day duties.

• Understanding of what makes great customer service.
• Experience working in a busy customer service environment.
• Ability to manage workload and work independently when required.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Flexibility to work on rota basis.
