Special Needs Teaching Assistant (LIMSEN) Waltham Forest, England

Salary: GBP92.59 – GBP118 per annum

Are you a SEN Teaching Assistant with experience working with pupils who have Autism, MLD, challenging behaviours, or Complex Learning Needs? Affinity Partnerships are working with Multi‑Academy Trusts to find experienced Teaching Assistants to work on a Full‑time, long‑term basis in September. The schools facilities are excellent, and you will have access to a large source of resources to engage students and ensure that learning is fun.

The schools offer a specialist provision for pupils aged between 2-19 with a range of complex and significant learning needs in the area of cognition and learning. This role includes learning with Autistic spectrum condition and those with complex physical and sensory impairments.

An ideal candidate will be:

  • Excited about working with children and being creative
  • Experience managing a class in the absence of the class Teacher
  • Confident managing children’s behaviour
  • Emotionally resilient
  • An approachable, friendly character
  • Aware or have experience of supporting children and adults with additional needs

The Desirable Candidate:

  • Can offer previous experience with mental health in a supporting capacity
  • A knowledge or understanding/experience working with SEN
  • A confident approach to working with children
  • An educational background
  • An enthusiasm to learn, sense of humour and develop professionally
  • An enhanced DBS Affinity Workforce can assist with this.
