THE COMPANY

We have an exciting opportunity for a Garment Technologist to join a fast fashion Ladieswear supplier. The company create fashion ranges for high‑street & online retailers. The ideal candidate will have 2 years’ + experience working in a similar role, have excellent communication skills, be self‑motivated and be able to work well on their own and as part of a team.

THE ROLE

  • Working with designers/account managers creating first size spec for sampling and costing.
  • Work closely with the Merchandiser to ensure critical path dates are reached and updated on a daily basis.
  • Attending handovers and highlighting at handover any foreseeable issues.
  • Liaising with customers and overseas factories.
  • Responsible for attending fit meetings – relaying issues / comments to the overseas factories.
  • Produce clear and detailed technical specifications.
  • Ensure that all fit samples and production run smoothly.
  • Measuring development, fit samples, pre‑production samples and production samples ensuring these are to the required quality and measurement.
  • Ensure all technical information is kept up to date with customer requirements and manuals and communicated to factories.
  • Have the ability to read and advice on test reports to the customers’ requirements.
  • Have an understanding on care labels based on the fabric.
  • Checking 3rd party inspections ensuring these are to the customers’ requirements.
  • Carry out checks for bulk stock, compare with approved production sample/spec for own brand.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Have a minimum of 2 + years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Have a degree in Fashion Technology or experience working within the supply chain.
  • Understanding of garment construction.
  • Highly organised & attentive to detail.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • An understanding of pattern cutting /grading is desirable.
  • Knowledge of sustainability is preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to key deadlines.
  • Able to work on one’s own initiative along with being a team player.
