Human Resources Manager

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HR Manager to join a well-established organisation based in Carrickfergus.
This is a key role within the business, responsible for leading and managing the full human resources function while providing professional advice and support to management and employees.
The successful candidate will develop and implement HR strategies, policies and procedures that support the organisations objectives, ensure compliance with employment legislation and promote a positive, professional and high-performing workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement HR plans and initiatives aligned with the organisations strategic objectives.
Provide professional advice and guidance to management on employee relations, workforce planning, performance management and wider employment matters.
Develop, review and maintain HR policies, procedures and standards, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and best practice.
Support managers with employee relations matters, including performance, conduct, attendance and workplace concerns.
Prepare, review and maintain job descriptions and person specifications.
Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including advertising vacancies, shortlisting applications, coordinating interviews and supporting candidate selection.
Ensure vacancies are managed and filled within agreed timescales.
Develop and deliver effective induction and onboarding programmes for new employees.
Act as the companys Training Coordinator.
Identify employee development and training needs across the organisation.
Develop and maintain an annual skills development and training plan, updating requirements in line with changing business needs.
Coordinate internal and external training programmes.
Collate training records and prepare CITB grant applications and supporting documentation.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, personnel files and HR systems.
Monitor and report on HR, recruitment and training activities.
Complete and submit statutory monitoring returns to the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland.
Lead and support the companys Investors in People programme, working towards the achievement and maintenance of accreditation standards.
Support company initiatives relating to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, FSC and Investors in People requirements.
Ensure HR activities comply with relevant company procedures, quality standards and legislative requirements.
Promote a positive workplace culture that supports employee engagement, development and organisational growth.
Essential Criteria
Degree or professional qualification in Human Resources, Business Management or a related discipline.
Graduate Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, or an equivalent professional HR qualification.
A minimum of three to five years generalist HR experience at a similar level.
Strong knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice.
Experience providing practical HR advice and support to managers and employees.
Experience reviewing employee development needs and coordinating training requirements.
Experience working within a busy, fast-moving office environment.
Strong Microsoft Office and general IT skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
A professional, confidential and approachable manner.
Ability to work independently while contributing positively as part of a wider team.
Desirable Criteria
Experience working within construction, manufacturing, fit-out or another project-led environment.
Experience preparing CITB grant applications.
Experience completing Equality Commission monitoring returns.
Previous involvement with Investors in People accreditation.
Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 or FSC standards.
The Successful Candidate
This role would suit an experienced and commercially aware HR professional who is confident managing a broad generalist remit. You will be organised, approachable and able to build trusted relationships with employees and senior management while balancing day-to-day HR requirements with longer-term business priorities.
