A fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic band 5 Podiatrist to join our team. The Podiatry service provides multiple care offers to meet the individual needs of the people across the city of Leeds. We are a community-based service that provides assessment and treatment of foot, ankle and lower limb related problems using diagnostic equipment and treatment packages. We offer specialist services, including wound care, foot and ankle pain, a foot protection service for people with high-risk feet and nail surgery. We promote health coaching and self-management to empower people to manage their own foot needs. Our team of Advanced and Specialist Podiatrists, Podiatrists and Assistant Practitioners are based in geographical areas across Leeds. All clinical staff are expected to work in health centres, patients’ own homes and care homes. The service works closely with other stakeholders and is a research-active team collaborating on national research projects. You will use evidence-based practice to formulate, develop and deliver individualized treatment plans in clinics and patients homes, applying clinical reasoning to manage a varied caseload including high risk, diabetes, wound care and biomechanics patients.
Main duties / Responsibilities
• Work to professional and regulatory body codes, standards and guidance, ensuring practice is grounded in evidence-based theoretical and practical knowledge.• Travel across the NHS Trust carrying a variety of equipment; ability to travel independently across the city is essential.• Support and deliver care in clinics and patients homes as part of a multidisciplinary team.
