Principal Electrical Engineer – Manchester

We specialise in a broad range of engineering and consultancy services, including acoustics, air quality, building services (MEP), fire, lighting, security and sustainability.

We are looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Manchester office, where you will support and deliver electrical design services for a variety of commercial, residential and mission‑critical projects. You will work within multidisciplinary teams and drive high‑quality, profitable outcomes across all project stages.

  • Lead the day‑to‑day technical delivery of electrical design services for multi‑disciplinary projects across a range of building sectors.
  • Develop initial strategic concepts, ensuring solutions meet the brief and regulatory standards.
  • Engage regularly with internal and external stakeholders, communicating effectively and attending project meetings.
  • Collaborate with the team leader to monitor fee expenditure, resources and deliverables.
  • Mentor junior professionals, apprentices and graduates, supporting their skill development.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer or in a closely related role, delivering complex projects.
  • Proficiency with modern technical delivery processes and tools such as BIM, Revit, Electrical OM, Dialux and Relux.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with clients, contractors and architects in a design‑oriented consulting capacity.
  • A self‑aware, open‑mind and generous mindset.
  • Experience supporting others to develop knowledge, skills and confidence.
