Overview
Cyber Security Architect position based in Gloucester, UK. This is a hybrid role (minimum 3 days on site) with a clear growth pathway from Cyber Security Engineer to security architecture over time.
Responsibilities
- Join as a Cyber Security Engineer and develop the skills and experience needed to move into architecture.
- Collaborate with experienced security architects and engineers to design and secure systems.
- Understand and apply core security principles and secure design practices to meet requirements.
- Assist in designing and implementing secure systems aligned with risk and compliance requirements.
Essential Qualifications
- Experience in cyber security, infrastructure, or systems engineering.
- Background in roles such as Security Engineer, Systems Engineer, Network Engineer, or SOC Analyst with strong technical depth.
- Strong understanding of networking (TCP/IP, firewalls, segmentation), operating systems (Windows/Linux), identity and access management concepts, and cloud fundamentals.
- Exposure to security tooling (SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR).
- Strong understanding of core security principles: defence in depth, least privilege, zero trust.
- Understanding of designing and implementing secure systems to meet HMG security requirements.
- Experience managing complex technology estates with varying risk profiles.
Desirable Qualifications
- Security-related certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CISM, GSEC, SSCP.
