Information Manager – Systems Integration
The IM Systems role is responsible for the setup, management, and operation of interfaces between engineering applications (SMARTPLANT, AVEVA authoring tools, engineering databases, Digital Twin technology). The role ensures data is correctly shared, consistent, accurate, and includes administration of data repositories, performing data transfers, managing changes, generating reports, and ensuring effective exchange and handover of a complete dataset to the client for the operations phase.
Key Activities
- Plan, direct, coordinate and serve as focal point for data management systems integration.
- Facilitate the setup and configuration of data repositories to meet project requirements.
- Understand corporate and project requirements for data collection, conditioning, reporting and handover.
- Working knowledge, understanding and expertise in AVEVA and Hexagon toolsets, including:
- Configuration of data entry tables (grids)
- Data access controls
- Data import, export, transform and load
- Reports
- Tag management
- Automation
- Class Library responsibilities:
- Admin level support to define and configure Class Libraries
- Configure AVEVA ISM to manage class library
- Define tag format, list of values, unit of measure, etc.
- Manage transfer of Class Library data into engineering database and Digital Twin environment
- Understand complex regular expressions
- Set up and ensure compliance with Data Standards.
- Define project reports, summary and business intelligence dashboards.
- Coordinate with project disciplines to resolve data inconsistencies, errors or mapping issues associated with interfaces.
Experience, Education, Skills & Job Knowledge
- University degree qualification or equivalent oil and gas industry experience.
- Relevant number of years of experience in an engineering data systems role.
- Experience using and managing Engineering Data Warehouses such as AVEVA Engineering, SMARTPLANT Foundation or similar.
- Experience using and managing engineering class libraries using AVEVA Information Standards Manager or similar.
- Excellent working knowledge of databases and reporting.
- Strong technical background in Oracle 12c, PL/SQL, ETL and data warehousing.
- Expertise with writing and optimising Oracle/SQL stored procedures and query performance.
- Automation of processes using scripting languages such as PowerShell, CMD, etc.
- Strong design and system architecture skills.
- Designing and implementing new business logic/reports as SQL inside stored procedures within existing system/reporting framework, as well as enhancing and maintaining existing functionality.
- Self‑sufficient and creative in defining reporting/data solutions.
- Strong background with Microsoft BI stack (SSIS, SSRS, Power BI).
- Knowledge of AVEVA Net, AIM and Engage or similar.
- Knowledge of CFIHOS.
