Site Engineer Civils

Recruiting on behalf of a main contractor based in the South Coast that specialises in facility management, civil engineering and interior fit‑out. This position is for a site engineer on a private bridge improvement civil project in Portsmouth. The role is permanent, Monday to Friday, and starts immediately. Salary is negotiable based on experience, typically ranging from £50,000 to £70,000 per annum plus benefits.

Responsibilities

• Ensure structural repairs match designs safely.
• Manage project deadlines.
• Conduct toolbox talks.
• Check permits.
• Perform inspections.
• Handle materials.
• Update drawings.
• Coordinate with suppliers.
• Supervise specific teams or contractors.
• Maintain general health and safety at all times.

Qualifications

• Experience as a site engineer on heavy civil projects for main contractors.
• Desirable experience working on bridges, highways or railway projects.
• Relevant PPE and site qualifications in date.
