Job Title: Bid Manager | Defence & Maritime
The Role
We are looking for a talented Bid Manager to join our growing Business Development team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead high-value bids from qualification through to contract award, helping shape the future growth of a leading engineering business supporting the defence and maritime sectors.
What you will be doing:
- Managing the complete bid lifecycle from opportunity qualification through to submission, contract award and handover.
- Developing winning bid strategies that drive business growth and maximise win rates.
- Acting as the primary customer contact throughout the bid process.
- Leading bid kick-off meetings, managing bid plans, reviews and submission deadlines.
- Coordinating cross-functional teams across Engineering, Commercial, Project Management, Supply Chain and Operations.
- Preparing compelling technical and commercial proposals, delivery plans and tender responses.
- Managing customer onboarding, due diligence and CRM opportunities.
- Supporting smooth project handovers and coordinating future resource requirements.
- Driving continuous improvement of bid processes and best practice.
What we are looking for:
- Proven Bid Management experience, ideally within the Defence, Maritime or Aerospace sectors.
- Experience working within a complex engineering or technical environment.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple bids under tight deadlines.
- Strong written communication and proposal writing skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and CRM systems (Dynamics desirable).
- A collaborative team player with excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
