Building Services Supervisor

We are looking for a Building Services Supervisor to join our premises in the Warwick area. Previous caretaking or security experience is preferred but not required; we provide the training you will need. The role includes contractual weekend overtime and on‑call duty every fourth weekend, with a mobile phone provided for business use only.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure buildings are opened and closed on time and remain safe and secure using alarms.
  • Undertake routine maintenance work.
  • Supervise cleaning and caretaking staff and contractors.
  • Perform site inspections, recycling, and porterage duties.
  • Check and respond to emails, order stock, and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Participate in training activities and work with internal and external customers.
  • Support the wider team as directed.
  • Work the agreed 38‑hour week, starting at 11:15 (Monday 13:15) and finishing at 20:15, with a lunch break from 15:00‑16:00.

Key Requirements

  • Good customer care skills.
  • Flexible approach and willingness to support the wider team.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Take pride in your work and willingness to undertake training.
  • Must have a valid driving license.
  • Must live close enough to respond to emergency call‑outs within twenty minutes.

Full Pay Package

  • Basic Salary: £25,583 to £25,989 per annum.
  • Regular Overtime: £3,619.98 – 6 hours at time and a half every 4th Saturday, 3 hours at double time every 4th Sunday, and 1 hour at time and a half every week.
  • Standby Duty: £2,780.40 per annum (subject to annual review).
  • Contractual weekend overtime (every 4th week): Saturday – 6 hours (08:00‑13:00 and 16:00‑17:00); Sunday – 3 hours (07:00‑09:00 and 16:00‑17:00).
  • Contractual standby duty (on‑call) – every 4th week: Monday‑Friday 20:15 to 08:00 next morning; Saturday 13:00‑16:00 and Sunday 17:00‑07:00; Sunday 09:00‑16:00 and Monday 17:00‑08:00.

Other Conditions of Employment

  • Must have a valid driving license.
  • Must live close enough to respond to emergency call‑outs within twenty minutes.
