Java Developer

Overview

Work embedded in a cross-functional team with software developers, technical product owners and testers to develop JVM applications using Test Driven Development and Pair Programming. Drive the design and implementation of systems, understanding the context and why we are implementing what we are implementing, while continuously looking to improve our systems and ways of working. Mentor and coach other members of the department.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate within a cross-functional team to design, implement, test, and deploy JVM applications.
• Apply Test Driven Development (TDD) and Pair Programming to deliver high-quality software.
• Drive design decisions with awareness of system context and business objectives.
• Mentor and coach colleagues to promote engineering excellence and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in Java or Kotlin (back-end).
• Extensive knowledge of Java or Kotlin programming languages (5+ years).
• Hands-on experience in a cross-functional, agile development team.
• 3+ years of practical experience in test driven development and an interest in pair programming.
