Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Deployment Lead on a 9-month secondment/fixed-term basis to provide cover for a secondment within the team. This role supports the delivery of key transformation and digital deployment programmes across the Trust. It sits within the IT Operations Team, part of the wider Digital Service, which leads the Trust’s digital strategy, development, coordination, planning, project management, and programme delivery across digital and supporting services.

The Deployment Lead will work closely with operational, clinical, and corporate stakeholders to deliver an effective service across the GHC IT estate, ensuring staff have the IT equipment they need in a timely and efficient manner. The role focuses on safe, effective deployments aligned with programme objectives and helping colleagues realise the benefits of digital transformation and service improvement.

The primary purpose is to lead the IT Deployment Team, ensuring an efficient, professional, high-quality service that supports the Trust’s IT equipment estate. The post holder will oversee imaging, asset management, and deployment of new and existing IT equipment across Gloucestershire Health and Care (GHC), and own the full lifecycle management of GHC IT equipment. The role involves working across all GHC sites, with the normal base starting at Edward Jenner Court, Brockworth. Strong technical expertise in device imaging, hardware deployment, and IT asset management is required.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the Deployment Team to ensure all services meet KPI and customer expectations, providing direction, coaching, and managing escalations.
  • Oversee a wide range of people management duties including recruitment, mentoring, performance, workload, and disciplinary matters while contributing to team development, policy creation, and wider digital projects.
  • Coordinate incidents with third-party suppliers, support IT Operations leadership with service objectives and reporting, and ensure compliance with NHS information governance and security standards.
  • Manage stock across all GHC sites, including equipment installation, quality control, ordering, audits, disposal, warranty handling, and maintaining accurate asset records.
  • Resolve technical issues, manage accounts via Active Directory, maintain IT policies, support the Digital Services knowledge base, and represent the department professionally.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Proven experience leading an IT deployment team or equivalent, with a track record of delivering device imaging, deployment, and asset management at scale.
  • Strong technical capabilities in device imaging, hardware deployment, and IT asset management across multiple sites.
  • Experience coordinating incidents with third-party suppliers and aligning with service objectives and governance standards (NHS information governance and security).
  • Ability to manage stock, procurement, audits, and lifecycle management of IT equipment; familiarity with Active Directory and IT service support practices.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement across operational, clinical, and corporate teams; strong communication and customer service skills.
