Overview
We are building a new broadband offering with no long contracts, fast, dependable full fibre and symmetrical speeds. About the Team and Tech
We work with many teams at giffgaff, including partners we rely on, to stay engaged with our engineering community and maintain high quality products. Our tech stack includes:
- Server-side: Java 21, Maven, Spring Boot, JUnit
- Client-side: TypeScript, Next.js, React and related tools
- Infrastructure: AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Kafka, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, ElasticSearch, Kibana, Grafana, Prometheus
Responsibilities
- Work with a full-stack attitude within a self-organising, cross-functional product engineering team, using extreme programming practices such as pair programming and test-driven development.
- Build, support and maintain automated, fault-tolerant, scalable products and solutions continuously delivered into production.
- Help establish the best architecture for products and services and proactively contribute to technical improvements.
- Develop and follow a sense of purpose, be technically curious, proactive and produce usable solutions for colleagues.
- Identify improvements in software you use and build; accept feedback and adapt to priorities.
- Apply practices such as Test Driven Development, Clean Code, Refactoring, Observability and a “you build it, you run it” mindset.
- Communicate effectively and participate in product thinking and collaboration with wider teams.
Qualifications
- Experience with events-driven architecture, SOLID principles, microservices and micro-frontends (Desirable).
- Experience in payments/financial systems (Desirable).
- Good communication and ability to give and receive feedback.
Location and Employment Type
Location: Uxbridge (hybrid or remote with monthly office visits possible). Full-time role in the Tech, Software area.
