Reporting line: Software Engineer. Primary work location: Waterloo, London (hybrid, 2 days a week in-office).
Overview of the role: You will join Everfox’s UX software team to gain hands‑on experience within a highly innovative company. You will support continuous improvement of workflows, practices and processes employed by the UX engineering team, and contribute to continuous integration, deployment, testing/automation, and product engineering. The environment is fast‑moving and supportive, with opportunities for personal development. The technology stack ranges from bespoke hardware, FPGAs and embedded software, to mobile and desktop applications, web services and AWS.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to developing tools and enhance infrastructure that automate the process of building, integrating and testing products.
- Support the engineering team in developing, integrating and automating tests.
- Assist in developing new pipelines for software build and integration.
- Leverage AI tooling to accelerate productivity across engineering workflows, from code generation and review to test automation and documentation.
- Improve code maintainability and supportability.
- Support the maintenance of scripts to automate routine development activity.
- Investigate new technologies and perform rapid prototyping to support technical de‑risking and identify opportunities for design improvements.
- Recognise the industry Everfox operates in and comply with information security policies.
Qualifications & Skills
- Keen interest in tech and/or cybersecurity.
- Some scripting experience (Python or Bash); basic knowledge of version control systems (Git).
- Familiarity with build systems is desirable.
- Some exposure to testing is preferred.
- Ability to multi‑task and collaborate with multiple teams; proactive and capable of working independently or in a wider team.
- Interest in AI and emerging development tools with a curiosity for applying them to real‑world engineering challenges.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal; detail‑oriented and well organized with good time management.
- Right to work in the UK for the duration of the internship.
Compensation: A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range is provided; actual salary offered may vary based on experience, locale, and business needs.
