Job Title: Senior Pricing Manager – Van
Location: Bexhill/Leicester/London – Hybrid
The Role
- You will own the Van/LCV footprint and set the risk appetite.
- Demonstrate loss ratio control by effectively implementing and monitoring underwriting controls.
- Implement new vehicle assessment, acceptance and develop innovative approaches to vehicle underwriting.
- Measure performance contributing to overall agreed loss ratio targets.
- Implement and influence underwriting philosophy & strategy through key relationships, building reputation as an underwriting expert and building confidence across the business.
- Compile underwriting and price change recommendations supported by sound analysis.
- Partner with the in-house underwriter and Advantage to highlight any areas of risk or commercial opportunity in the van account.
- Act as strategist in van/LCV and emerging trends.
- Develop and deliver new insights, including integration of new data, analytical techniques and new ways of underwriting and pricing in the van market.
- Keep up to date with market and product developments in this market through research.
What We Are Looking For
- Strong understanding of the motor insurance market, particularly LCV/Van.
- Experience in a pricing or commercially focussed analytical role.
- SQL and experience working with large or complex datasets.
- R/Python/Matlab or similar statistical coding skills.
- Mentoring, training or project-based management of junior colleagues.
- Fast learner capable of understanding our business, value drivers and wider industry context.
- Customer focus to spot profit opportunities and do the right thing.
