Overview
Area Camden is seeking a Registered Manager for a 4 bed children’s home in London. The role requires a minimum of 2-3 years’ management experience and experience of working with young people aged 11-17 who exhibit challenging behaviour. Area Camden is a Good Ofsted regulated business and the quality and professionalism of our staff is of paramount importance.

Salary: Up to £60,800 (includes bonuses)
Contract Type: Full-time
Working hours: 40 hours per week
Main Purpose of Role
Registered Managers are accountable for delivering high-quality care to the children and young people resident within the home. They are responsible for the delivery of all care services, strategic planning for developments within the home, and day-to-day management matters. They should contribute to continuous improvement of childcare standards at Area Camden and lead by example to ensure best outcomes for each child.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality care to children and young people in the home and ensure delivery of all care services.
- Lead strategic planning, oversee day-to-day management, and coordinate staff to provide the best possible care.
- Be personally available for the children and supervise, mentor, and organize staff; facilitate care-focused training and access to appropriate services.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and safeguarding procedures.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 5 in Management
- NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People
- Experience of managing staff and strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and Care Standards Act 2000 relating to Children’s Homes Regulations; safeguarding procedures
Working Arrangements & Benefits
- Home manager is employed for 40 hours per week; may require arranging own rota including evenings, weekends, and night shifts
- The post is subject to a six-month probationary period
- Annual leave of 32 days per annum (including Bank Holidays; increases in first three years)

- Ofsted bonuses: £3,000 for Outstanding, £1,500 for Good
- Full Occupancy Bonus: £400 per month
- Travel allowance or company car: £3,000
- Three months’ notice on either side (except for disciplinary issues)

- DBS check at enhanced level if successful
