Job Summary
We are looking for a registered mental health nurse to join the Health Based Place of Safety (HBPoS) Team at St Ann’s Hospital in Poole. The role supports people experiencing acute mental health crises who are detained under Section 136 of the Mental Health Act and brought in by the police for assessment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a safe environment and appropriate care for individuals detained under Section 136 of the MHA and brought in by the police for assessment.
- Work 24/7, including nights, weekends and bank holidays, ensuring continuity of care and assessment.
- Collaborate closely with clinical site managers, police, AMHPs, medical colleagues and external agencies to facilitate timely assessments.
- Complete all clinical and legal documentation in line with Trust policy and MHA legislation.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of clinical and legal procedures relevant to the HBPoS setting.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Registered mental health nurse.
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (cost covered by the Trust).
- Successful completion of PMVA training is an essential requirement.
- Applicants requiring current Skilled Worker sponsorship to work in the UK are ineligible to apply.
