Job Description: Our client is seeking a Small Animal Vet Surgeon to join a friendly and forward-thinking practice in Hartlepool. This opportunity is well suited to an experienced vet who enjoys routine consultations, surgery, varied case work, and the support of a large clinical team with a strong focus on professional development.

The role offers access to multiple well-equipped small animal sites, experienced certificate holders, dedicated nursing support, and future purpose-built facilities with exciting plans for further diagnostic development. There is also scope for a more senior position for a vet interested in mentoring, supporting less experienced colleagues, and contributing to clinical progression within the team.

Responsibilities

  • Managing routine small animal consultations, treatment planning, diagnostics, and surgical cases
  • Working across a varied caseload with support from certificate holders and skilled nursing colleagues
  • Handling occasional sole charge duties with confidence and good clinical judgement
  • Supporting emergency and sick patient appointments within a well-managed daily diary
  • Mentoring less experienced colleagues where appropriate and contributing to a supportive team culture

Qualifications

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon or eligibility to register
  • Confidence with routine consultations and small animal surgery
  • Ability to manage occasional sole charge responsibility
  • Strong communication skills with clients, colleagues, and support staff
  • Interest in mentoring or a senior clinical role would be welcomed
