Job Title :

Test Systems Commissioning Engineer

Reporting To:

Manager, Test Systems Design

Work Schedule:

Onsite – Wolverhampton, GBR

Moog Aircraft Group Wolverhampton is preparing for additional growth over the coming year and are expanding our Test Systems capability. We are seeking a proactive and technically adept Commissioning Engineer to join our Test Systems team. This position supports a period of high commissioning activity within the Test Systems department. You’ll collaborate across functions — from Actuation Engineering to Supply Chain — and play a key role in ensuring Moog’s test infrastructure is ready to meet the demands of next-generation aerospace programmes. You’ll lead the commissioning of complex, bespoke Test Equipment that supports the Qualification and Production Acceptance testing of Moog’s high-performance flight control systems — including linear, servo-controlled, high-pressure hydraulic actuators.

This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in multi-disciplinary environments, enjoy hands-on problem-solving, and are driven by the challenge of delivering precision systems that underpin aerospace excellence.

What you’ll do

  • Lead commissioning activities to deliver Test Equipment on time, on spec, and on budget

  • Oversee and support mechanical and electrical assembly, interfacing with Design Engineering to resolve build issues

  • Drive system integration and formal verification testing, ensuring all requirements are met and documented

  • Coordinate customer validation and correlation testing, including analysis of results

  • Ensure all documentation — including verification reports and ‘as built’ drawings — is complete and released

  • Support calibration procedure development and facility readiness (hydraulic/electrical service integration)

  • Deliver end-user training and author user and maintenance manuals

  • Promote and uphold Health & Safety standards throughout all commissioning activities

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical/Electronics, Aeronautical Engineering — or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years in aerospace, automotive, or other complex engineering environments

  • Proven experience with Test Systems or Test Equipment commissioning

  • Strong diagnostic skills across hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems

  • Familiarity with Systems Engineering principles, especially Verification and Validation

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with DOORS, Subversion/JIRA, Teamcenter, or NX is a plus

What We Offer

  • Flexible benefits package and development opportunities to support career progression

  • 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays)

  • Private medical insurance, mental health support and financial advice

  • Generous life assurance and company pension contribution (from 6%)

  • Employee share options, free onsite parking, EV charging

  • Hybrid working arrangements
