Consultant Physician – General Medicine (Rheumatology) – Fixed Term 12 Months
We are recruiting a consultant physician in general medicine with an interest in rheumatology. The post is a 12‑month fixed term, based at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, with outpatient activity across Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Stobhill Ambulatory Care Hospital.
The successful candidate will work in partnership with clinical and management colleagues to deliver a full range of consultant services across inpatient and outpatient care. Outpatient work will include combined new and return clinics at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Stobhill Ambulatory Care Hospital. The appointee will also contribute to acute medical receiving, the consultant on‑call rota, and downstream ward cover at weekends.
Shift pattern: Monday to Friday with weekend and on‑call/overnight work pattern.
Applicants must hold full GMC registration with a licence to practise and be on the GMC Specialist Register or be within six months of entry to the register at the date of interview. Candidates who have completed UK training should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT). Applicants who have not trained in the UK must demonstrate equivalent training and eligibility for specialist registration through the appropriate route.
We are particularly looking for individuals with a keen interest in bone and mineral metabolism, but candidates without formal training in this area will also be considered based on their wider relevant experience, skills, and the needs of the service.
