Overview

Inspection Quality Engineer – Location: Ash Vale. Permanent role. Salary: £36,000 – £39,000 per annum DOE.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Inspection Quality Engineer to join our client’s growing engineering team in Ash Vale. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong quality inspection background within a manufacturing or engineering environment who is passionate about precision, quality and continuous improvement. Working closely with production and engineering teams, you will play a key role in ensuring components meet customer specifications and company quality standards. This is a permanent position offering excellent working hours, overtime opportunities, and ongoing training and development.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out first article, in-process and final inspections of manufactured components.
  • Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and customer specifications.
  • Use a variety of inspection and measuring equipment to verify component quality.
  • Produce and maintain inspection reports, certificates and quality documentation.
  • Work in accordance with the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Support production by identifying and resolving quality issues.
  • Ensure accurate document control and traceability of inspection records.
  • Liaise effectively with production and engineering teams to maintain quality standards.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in a quality or inspection role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • A good understanding of inspection equipment, quality systems and manufacturing processes.
  • The ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
  • Experience of first article inspection (FAI) and in-process inspection.
  • Strong attention to detail with a quality-focused mindset.
  • Good IT skills for producing inspection reports and managing quality documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

This role would suit someone with a background in machining, assembly or inspection who has hands-on inspection experience and is looking for a stable, long-term opportunity within a quality-driven engineering business.

  • Competitive salary of £36,000 – £39,000 per annum.
  • 39-hour working week.
  • Early finish every Friday (1:15pm).
  • Overtime available: Weekdays paid at 1.3x the basic hourly rate; Weekends paid at 1.5x the basic hourly rate.
