Test Engineer (ICT & or Functional Test) – Siemens Digital Industries at Siemens Congleton. At Siemens Congleton, we manufacture advanced electronic products used in industrial applications. Our Test Engineering team ensures products meet high standards of quality and reliability. We seek a Test Engineer to develop, optimise and support production test solutions for our range of variable speed drives and power electronic products. This is a manufacturing-based engineering role, working closely with production and industrialisation teams to develop and support robust test solutions for efficient, high-volume manufacturing and real business impact. What You’ll Be Doing
- Developing and supporting ICT and/or Functional Test solutions
- Maintaining and optimising production test equipment
- Fault-finding complex electrical and electronic issues
- Analysing test data and driving improvements in yield, quality and efficiency
- Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from concept through to production
- Working closely with Manufacturing, Quality and Product Engineering teams
- Driving automation, digitalisation and continuous improvement initiatives
- Supporting technicians and operators in resolving test-related issues
About you
- Degree level knowledge of Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Solid understanding of electronic circuits, electrical principles, analogue and digital electronics, fault-finding techniques, signal measurement and interpretation
- Programming capability with exposure to C/C++, LabVIEW or test scripting/automation tools
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively and work collaboratively across multiple teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to learn quickly and take ownership of technical topics
The following would be advantageous but are not essential:
- Experience with ICT, flying probe, or functional test systems (e.g. Keysight, Teradyne, Takaya or SPEA)
- Experience within a manufacturing, production engineering, or electronics test environment
- Knowledge of power electronics, motor drives, PLCs (TIA Portal), or industrial automation technologies
- Experience with data analytics, automated reporting, or continuous improvement methodologies
- Awareness of risk assessment and machine safety requirements
