Controls Engineer (PID Loops / Safety)

£45,000 – £48,000 (OTE 65K+) + 10% Bonus + £7,000 Car Allowance + Healthcare + 12% Pension

Widnes

We are looking for a Controls Engineer or PLC Programmer with experience in PID Loops, who will programme and commission equipment for a world‑leading industrial automation company. You will receive expert training on advanced DCS programming, further specialize in Functional Safety, and gain TÜV certification as part of your career development.

Responsibilities

• Program distributed control systems used for industrial automation.
• Travel to sites and off‑shore locations to commission control systems.

Benefits & Working Arrangements

• Flexible hybrid working – up to 3 days at home per week.
• Full training on bespoke systems.
• Occasional off‑shore work, up to 2 weeks at a time, with overtime and off‑shore rates paid.
• Every other Friday off.

Qualifications

• Controls Engineer, PLC Programmer or similar background.
• Ability to program PLCs or Distributed Control Systems.
• Knowledge of PID Loops or SIL (Functional Safety).
• UK driving licence.
