Electrical Engineer – Smethwick

Electrical Engineer needed for a large well known Facilities Management organisation based in Smethwick. The role requires an experienced electrical engineer who takes pride in their work and has maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Undertake a proactive role in responding to reactive jobs to diagnose, fault find, and repair complex mechanical and electrical systems in accordance with relevant standards and procedures and in compliance with legislation and guidance.
• Respond to BMS alerts and phone calls during night shift; act as initial point of contact, assess the issue, allocate the task to the appropriate team member, and complete necessary documentation. Handover records to the Helpdesk at shift start to support service continuity.
• Obtain Competent Person status for systems such as low-voltage electrical systems, access control, alarm systems and medical gas installations.
• Act as Authorised Person following appropriate training and familiarisation.
• Work on emergency lighting, nurse calls, general electrics, and fire alarms (and related systems).

Requirements

• City and Guilds Level 2 and 3
• AM2
• 18th Edition
• Previous maintenance environment experience
• Desirable: Previous experience in healthcare maintenance environment
• DBS check required (ability to pass DBS Standard check)
