Responsibilities
- Deliver case management through the identification of possible reasons for ill health or injury
- Consider the most appropriate intervention needed to reduce the risk of an employee being absent from work
- Shape outcomes by guiding line managers and HR
- Ensure employees can return to work safely and confidently
- Handle a combination of telephone and video consultations
- Collaborate across multiple departments
- Establish the current reason for ill health/injury and identify any underlying cause or contributory risk factors
- Communicate to the employee the multifactorial issues associated with the current episode of ill health/injury
- Access the most appropriate treatment intervention via the NHS or the private sector
- Help customers in line management/HR/Health and Safety understand the implications of the assessment
- Work seamlessly with the onsite Functional Health Team to take referrals and provide tasks
Requirements
- Previous case management, occupational health, or similar experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Confident telephone skills using effective listening and empathy with employees and stakeholders
- Adopt an investigatory approach to cases
- Ability to understand the impact of work on an individual and the impact of ill health on an individual’s ability to work
- Understand and demonstrate GDPR, DPA & ICO rules and guidelines relating to customers
- General occupational health and legal principles
- How to effectively manage an integrated health approach to the prevention and management of workplace ill health/injury
- Empathetic, professional, and confident in your communication, both on the phone and virtually
- Analytical and solution-focused, able to interpret data and identify obstacles to recovery
- Qualified physiotherapist, corrective exercise professional, counsellor, CBT practitioner, nutritionist, physiologist, nurse or other appropriately qualified professional
- Proven hands-on experience in case management, occupational health, or supporting employees through periods of ill health or injury
