Interim Senior Carrier Value Manager
Trainline’s Industry Relations team sits at the heart of our relationships with Train Operating Companies, Great British Railways, Rail Delivery Group and Government. The team plays an important role in shaping how Trainline delivers value across the rail industry through commercial partnerships, campaigns and initiatives that drive revenue, improve customer outcomes and strengthen our position as a leading distribution partner.
As the Interim Senior Carrier Value Manager, you’ll lead and deliver the Carrier Value agenda in the UK, bringing together commercial strategy, industry engagement and hands‑on delivery. This is a high‑impact, cross‑functional role where you’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across Industry Relations, Commercial, Product, Marketing and Data, as well as external rail partners, to identify the right opportunities and deliver them effectively.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the UK Carrier Value agenda, developing a clear pipeline of initiatives that deliver measurable value for both Trainline and our rail industry partners.
- Identify and prioritise new commercial opportunities using industry trends, data, stakeholder insight and partner feedback, balancing proactive ideas with reactive opportunities and requests.
- Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of commercial initiatives, including marketing campaigns, partnerships, revenue‑generating propositions, sponsored activity and commercial agreements.
- Work cross‑functionally with Product, Commercial, Marketing, Data and Industry Relations teams to land initiatives successfully, remove blockers and keep delivery moving in a complex stakeholder environment.
- Use data and insight to shape propositions, track performance and demonstrate the impact of initiatives through clear, outcome‑focused measurement.
- Build compelling narratives that communicate Trainline’s value to internal and external stakeholders, including senior audiences across the rail industry.
- Act as a connector across teams, ensuring Carrier Value initiatives are aligned with wider company priorities and support broader commercial, customer and partner outcomes.
- Contribute to wider team improvements, including ways of working, productivity and thoughtful adoption of AI and tooling where it can improve impact and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Strong commercial experience, ideally gained in partnerships, marketplaces, travel, transport or another environment where you have delivered value through external partner relationships.
- A track record of taking revenue‑driving initiatives from idea through to delivery, with a focus on measurable outcomes and practical execution.
- Confidence working with multiple stakeholders across different teams, with the ability to influence, align and maintain momentum in a complex environment.
- A strategic and outcome‑focused mindset, with the ability to move comfortably between shaping the bigger picture and getting into the detail to make things happen.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to turn data, insight and commercial impact into clear narratives for senior internal and external audiences.
- Experience using data and insight to identify opportunities, inform decisions and evaluate the success of commercial initiatives.
- A collaborative and pragmatic approach, with curiosity, adaptability and comfort working in a fast‑moving and evolving environment.
- Helpful if you have experience working with rail, travel, marketplaces or partner‑led commercial models, although we’re open to hearing from candidates with relevant experience from other sectors.
