The Role

Reporting to the Bursar and working closely with the Marketing team, the Commercial Lettings Manager will lead the development, promotion and delivery of Bethany’s lettings and residential holiday programmes. You will build strong commercial relationships, identify new revenue opportunities and ensure that all lettings are professionally managed, compliant and financially sustainable.

The role is offered initially on a part-time basis (20 hours per week), worked flexibly to suit business needs, including some evenings and weekends. As commercial activity and income grow, there is clear potential for the role and hours to expand.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Build relationships with external organisations, agents and partners
  • Manage venue hire for the theatre, swimming pool, sports, creative arts and residential facilities
  • Curate and programme events in harmony with the School’s calendar and mission
  • Lead and expand Bethany’s Residential Holiday Programme

  • Working with the Bursar to create budget and contracts and to ensure health and safety aspects are complied with
  • Working collaboratively with HR on all aspects of safeguarding, recruitment, training and managing seasonal or casual lettings staff
  • Oversee budgets, contracts, compliance, safeguarding and health & safety
  • Act as a key point of contact for customers, families and community partners
  • Adhere to all compliance regulations

Salary: £35,000-£40,000 FTE, pro rata (dependent on experience)

What we’re looking for:

You will be an entrepreneurial and highly organised professional with meaningful commercial experience, ideally gained within education, leisure, hospitality or a comparable sector. You will be confident managing multiple income streams, building partnerships and delivering excellent customer service.

You will also bring:

  • A degree-level qualification or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience of revenue generation and commercial growth
  • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Financial awareness, including budgeting and forecasting
  • Excellent organisational and project management abilities
  • A positive, flexible and collaborative approach
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
  • A full driving licence
  • Experience within a school environment, lifeguard training capability, or a D1 driving licence would be advantageous but are not essential.

Why join Bethany?

This is a unique opportunity to shape a developing commercial portfolio within a thriving independent school, combining entrepreneurship with purpose in a supportive and values-driven environment. Training opportunities will be supported where relevant, and the role offers the chance to grow alongside the School’s ambitions.
