Water Treatment / Pre‑Commissioning Operations Manager

Location: Bolton, Greater Manchester

Salary and benefits: £35k – £55k plus training and benefits including company vehicle, pension scheme and annual leave allowance.

Our client is seeking a commercially‑mindful and professional manager to oversee established teams and client contracts, utilising technical knowledge to drive growth and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

Experience & Qualifications

• Experience as a Water Treatment / Pre‑Commissioning Operations Manager
• Excellent technical knowledge of HTM 0301, ACOP L8 and BSRIA guidelines
• Industry‑related qualifications such as City and Guilds (WMSoc), Legionella Risk Assessing or CSA Grades (advantage)
• Strong communication skills
• Proven experience managing teams of office‑based and site staff
• Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills
• Professional manner

Responsibilities

• Deliver water treatment and pre‑commissioning duties on schedule and within scope
• Act as key point of contact for colleagues and clients
• Review and sign off technical documents
• Promote company growth by following up leads and upselling services to existing clients
• On‑board new clients via a range of methods
• Produce detailed RAMS and method statements
• Allocate workloads to ensure efficient service delivery
• Implement new processes to streamline and improve internal workflows
• Resolve conflicts and handle complaints
• Support teams with quoting and tender preparation
• Deliver technical training and support to internal teams
• Meet with clients on site to discuss contractual needs
• Maintain personal technical knowledge
• Involve in recruitment to grow the department
• Build and maintain strong client relationships
