Legal Consultant – Russian Speaking

Overview

A law firm headquartered in London is seeking an experienced CIS region/Russian qualified lawyer to assist on firm’s projects on an hourly (project) basis.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support on CIS region and Russian law matters as required for projects.
• Assist with drafting, translating, and advisory work related to assigned matters.

Qualifications

• UK/US legal qualifications (LLM, GDL, LPC) — advantageous but not a prerequisite.
• Russian law degree.
• At least three years’ experience with an international or reputable law firm or in-house department.
• Familiarity with arbitration rules of major centers (LCIA and ICC) — advantageous but not a prerequisite.
• Experience in private client work — advantageous but not a prerequisite.
• Fluent in Russian and English, both oral and written.
• Advanced IT literacy (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), ability to touch type, and experience formatting documents.
• Strong translating, advisory and drafting skills.
• Right to work in the UK without restrictions.
• High level of self-motivation and independence.

Contract

The position is offered on a self-employed consultancy basis. Hourly rates vary based on experience and the results of interviews and a case study. Part-time students are considered.
