Senior Delivery Consultant (DevOps)

The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe) team is seeking a skilled Senior Delivery Consultant (DevOps) to join our team at Amazon Web Services (AWS). In this role, you’ll work closely with customers to design, implement, and manage AWS solutions that meet their technical requirements and business objectives. You will be a key player in driving customer success throughout the cloud journey, providing technical expertise and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.

This is a customer‑facing role. You will be required to travel to UK client locations (3–4 days on customer site per week) to deliver professional services to our customers.

UK Government Security Clearance is required for this role (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels). UK Nationality is required for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working with customers to solve problems and identify opportunities; defining and delivering on‑site technical engagements.
  • Acting as an expert in operating within an enterprise security program and developing a security model in the AWS cloud, including identity and access management, logging and monitoring, infrastructure security, data protection, and incident response.
  • Delivering projects on‑site to customers, proving the use of AWS services and security technologies, supporting migration and development of new applications.
  • Conveying partner and customer feedback to AWS technology roadmaps.
  • Collecting, capturing, packaging and sharing knowledge with new customers, partners, and AWS employees to develop tools, services and artifacts.
  • Working backward from desired customer outcomes to design and deliver technical solutions.
  • Working on projects with autonomy and discretion.
  • Advising customers on how to implement solutions.
  • Assisting customers with building Proof of Concepts and implementing AWS services.
  • Collaborating with Sales and AWS Service Teams.
  • Researching, validating, and beta testing new AWS services.
  • Presenting workshops one‑to‑one or one‑to‑many.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience in a professional field or military background.
  • Experience as a technical specialist in design and architecture.
  • Experience in consulting, design and implementation of serverless distributed solutions.
  • Experience in software development with an object‑oriented language.
  • Experience in cloud‑based solutions (AWS or equivalent), system, network and operating system.
  • Experience in external or internal customer‑facing, complex and large‑scale project management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of AWS services including compute, storage, networking, security, databases, machine learning, and serverless technologies.
