Cyber Security Architect position based in Gloucester, UK. This is a hybrid role (minimum 3 days on site) with a clear growth pathway from Cyber Security Engineer to security architecture over time.Responsibilities
Join as a Cyber Security Engineer and develop the skills and experience needed to move into architecture.Collaborate with experienced security architects and engineers to design and secure systems.Understand and apply core security principles and secure design practices to meet requirements.Assist in designing and implementing secure systems aligned with risk and compliance requirements.Essential Qualifications
Experience in cyber security, infrastructure, or systems engineering.Background in roles such as Security Engineer, Systems Engineer, Network Engineer, or SOC Analyst with strong technical depth.Strong understanding of networking (TCP/IP, firewalls, segmentation), operating systems (Windows/Linux), identity and access management concepts, and cloud fundamentals.Exposure to security tooling (SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR).Strong understanding of core security principles: defence in depth, least privilege, zero trust.Understanding of designing and implementing secure systems to meet HMG security requirements.Experience managing complex technology estates with varying risk profiles.Desirable Qualifications
Security-related certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CISM, GSEC, SSCP.About RTX
