Are you a high-performance Java engineer with a passion for ultra-low latency systems and quantitative trading?
We are partnering with a global leader in digital assets and data center infrastructure that is operating at the cutting-edge intersection of finance and artificial intelligence. Our client is looking for a VP, Quantitative Developer to join their industry-leading Crypto trading desk in London.
In this high-impact role, you will sit right on the desk, collaborating directly with traders and quants to design, implement, and optimize elite market-making and quantitative trading strategies. If you want to bridge the gap between traditional high-frequency trading (HFT) and the future of decentralized finance, this is the role for you.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance trading algorithms and models specifically for Crypto markets.
- Translating complex trading strategies into highly efficient code in close collaboration with quantitative analysts and traders.
- Optimizing existing trading architecture for maximum speed, reliability, and scalability.
- Integrating new data sources, ensuring absolute data integrity, and monitoring live trading systems to guarantee minimal downtime.
- Championing the adoption of AI tools (such as generative AI and data copilots) to elevate team productivity and decision-making.
What We Are Looking For:
- Strong core programming skills in Java within an algorithmic trading environment.
- Deep expertise in high-frequency / low-latency trading systems.
- Previous experience working on an FX or Cryptocurrency trading desk.
- Knowledge of real-time market data processing and tick data analytics.
- Hands‑on experience integrating and executing strategies on DeFi platforms, particularly Solana (SOL) and Ethereum (ETH).
- Familiarity with cloud-based market access or hybrid deployment models.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Experience with Market Making or Market Making as a Service (MMaaS).
- Broader exposure to the DeFi or wider crypto ecosystem.
- Familiarity with DevOps processes or cloud infrastructure like AWS and GCP.
- Exposure to compliance-driven or regulatory environments.
