Clinical Support Worker – Trauma and Orthopaedics Department, King’s Mill Hospital

The Clinical Support Worker plays a key role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients within the Trauma and Orthopaedics Department at King’s Mill Hospital. Working under the supervision of Registered Nurses, the post holder supports the day-to-day care and wellbeing of patients by assisting with personal care, monitoring observations, maintaining a safe and organised ward environment, and supporting clinical and administrative tasks.

This role involves caring for patients with a wide range of trauma and orthopaedic conditions, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and safety throughout their hospital stay.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with daily living activities
  • Record vital signs
  • Support mobility and manual handling
  • Restock supplies
  • Escort patients to investigations
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation

The successful candidate will work closely within a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating excellent communication skills, compassion, professionalism, and a flexible approach to shift work, including nights and weekends. The role requires the ability to respond calmly in challenging situations while maintaining high standards of patient care, confidentiality, infection control, and safeguarding practice.
