Mental Health Support Worker – Every Shift Inspires Hope
We are seeking caring, resilient professionals to join P & S Care and Support. We provide compassionate, person‑centred support to adults living in supported living environments and respite settings. Every shift offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on someone’s recovery journey.
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person‑centred support tailored to each individual’s needs, goals, and recovery journey.
- Support people in supported living services and respite settings.
- Encourage independence by developing daily living skills, promoting confidence, and supporting personal goals.
- Build positive, trusting relationships where individuals feel respected, valued, listened to, and empowered.
- Offer emotional support through meaningful conversations while promoting dignity, choice, and wellbeing.
- Assist with daily living activities including shopping, meal preparation, budgeting, attending appointments, and medication prompts where appropriate; maintain a safe living environment.
- Encourage participation in community activities, education, volunteering, employment opportunities, and hobbies to promote social inclusion and recovery.
- Support individuals to manage anxiety and emotional distress using positive, recovery‑focused approaches.
- Record observations accurately, maintain confidential records, and report concerns appropriately.
- Promote safeguarding, mental wellbeing, dignity, equality, and rights of every individual at all times.
- Provide a calming, reassuring presence during difficult moments to help people feel safe, supported, and hopeful for the future.

- Empathy, resilience, positivity, and professionalism in every shift.
- Compassionate, patient, and passionate about supporting people experiencing mental health challenges.
- Adaptable and confident across a variety of care environments.
- Calm under pressure with the ability to build trusting, professional relationships.
- Reliable, respectful, and committed to promoting recovery, independence, and wellbeing.
- Good communication and active listening skills; ability to engage without judgement.
- Previous experience in mental health support is welcome; values, attitude, and commitment to making a difference are essential. Training and ongoing support are provided.
