Responsibilities
- As a Pastoral Support Assistant, help us meet our young peoples’ emotional needs by applying high standards of care and developing programs for each individual.
- Work with families and create a positive learning environment where every young person can thrive through careful assessment and planning.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs (e.g., AUTISM Spectrum Disorder, SEMH) and contribute to their development.
- Be a good listener, motivate and work effectively within a team; demonstrate flexibility and strong organizational skills.
Qualifications
- Experience working with young people with BESD or ASD in a school or care setting; understanding developmental needs and pastoral care.
- Experience with ASC, ADHD or SEMH pupils and with working with families in challenging circumstances; ability to support and resolve difficulties.
- Experience in multi-agency work with knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies and guidance.
- Ideally NVQ 3 in Care or Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification.
