Overview
The Home First Service seeks an experienced Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) for a fixed‑term secondment of 7 months to cover maternity leave from 01/10/2026 to 30/04/2027. The role is based in the Tweeddale locality and is part of a locality‑led community approach to reablement and broader health and social care services.
Responsibilities
- Provide high‑quality person‑centred care to patients in their own homes.
- Make independent decisions without direct supervision.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team including registered nursing staff, allied health professionals, social work and community services.
- Coordinate care with patients, families and other health professionals.
- Support service delivery in other localities (Central, Teviot & Tweeddale) as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Previous experience as a Healthcare Support Worker or equivalent.
- Full UK driving licence with business insurance.
- Flexibility to work weekdays and weekends on a rotational basis.
- Availability for hours 08:00 – 20:30 over 7 days.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom, or eligibility for UK sponsorship.
Working Conditions
Fixed‑term secondment for 7 months (01/10/2026 – 30/04/2027). Rotational working pattern covering weekdays and weekends, hours 08:00 – 20:30 over 7 days.
