CNC Machinist – Poole, Dorset

£17ph to £19ph

Full Time

A well-established precision engineering manufacturer based in Poole is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join its skilled workshop team. This is a hands‑on role offering long‑term stability, varied work, and opportunities to develop within a successful engineering business. The Role: you will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating CNC machinery to manufacture high‑precision components, ensuring all work is completed to engineering drawings and the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Programming, setting, and operating XYZ CNC machines.
  • Working on manual lathes and milling machines.
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Selecting tooling, setting offsets, and proving out new programs.
  • Manufacturing precision components to tight tolerances.
  • Carrying out self‑inspection throughout production using measuring equipment.
  • Deburring and finishing components where required.
  • Maintaining high standards of quality, housekeeping, and health & safety.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a CNC Machinist.
  • Experience programming, setting, and operating XYZ CNC machines, CNC lathes, and CNC mills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience working to tight tolerances.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Reliable, self‑motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
