The Children Looked After Team works with children under 16 years old who have a care plan for long‑term foster care. Children transfer into the team after care proceedings conclude and remain with the team until their 16th birthday. The social worker is responsible for managing a caseload of 14‑16 children and ensuring they receive consistent support and care.
Swindon Borough Council confirms a £100 weekly travel and accommodation allowance will continue for all agency placements within Children’s Social Care until 10 May 2026. Workers must live over 50 miles from Swindon.
Requirements
- SWE registration
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Drive and have access to a car
- Post-qualified experience in social work
- Degree level or equivalent in Social Work
