Overview

Social Worker – North West Locality Office

Salary: £40,501 – £47,639 • Hours: 36 per week

We are seeking a highly motivated social worker to work in the North West locality for Assessment and Care Management. Edinburgh Health & Social Care Partnership aims to transform social work to support adults with complex needs and frailty to live as independently as possible.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake statutory tasks including assessments and support planning, risk assessment and risk management, and Carers’ assessments.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support adults, their families and carers, balancing risk and need with choice and rights.
  • Provide advice, guidance and, if necessary, interventions for adults at risk of harm and in need of protection under relevant legislation.
  • Receive regular supervision and training within a supportive, well-established team.

Safeguarding and Regulated Work

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. An Overseas Criminal Record Check is required if an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years. An unconditional offer of employment is subject to satisfactory outcomes of both pre-employment checks.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with registration as required.
  • Completion of pre-employment checks (PVG and Overseas Criminal Record Check as applicable).
