As we continue to evolve, we are looking for a compassionate, resilient, calm, and proactive Social Care Assistant to join our team.
St Andrew’s Birmingham is a 125‑bedded adult mental healthcare facility comprising eight units that cover medium and low security for both men and women. Located in Stirchley, a vibrant area in South Birmingham, it is easily accessible by road networks and public transport.
The successful applicant will be a member of the social work and wider clinical team, supporting the delivery of a Social Work Service to service users and their carers.
Responsibilities
Provide support to patients in the following areas:
- Liaising with family
- Supporting with benefit claims
- Attending ward-based community meetings
Maintain excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and seek to develop specialist knowledge. Experience within the mental health field and/or experience with LDA (Learning Disabilities and Autism) is desirable.
Work under the supervision of a Lead Social Worker and qualified social workers, with regular supervision and opportunities for development in social work and related practice issues.
