Renew Education was formed in 2025 and has gone from strength to strength as an Alternative Provision Centre in the heart of Bridgwater. We are dedicated to supporting young people, sometimes with complex needs and supporting them to thrive. We’re seeking a passionate and resilient individual to join us on our journey to help shape a nurturing, impactful learning environment. This post will involve teaching and mentoring young people to develop their education in an accessible way. We currently work with numerous local schools, with students ranging in ages. However, with a healthy growth having taken place and plans for rapid expansion we wish to recruit a candidate who will not only perform the duties of a teacher/mentor some of the day, but also take on additional responsibilities, starting from September 2026.

What you’ll do

  • Plan to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum tailored to individual learning needs
  • Lead on strategic planning of holiday activity clubs.
  • Provide one-to-one mentorship and build trusting relationships
  • Perform the role of Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, attending meetings and liaising with commissioning schools or other agencies.
  • Take on an active role, alongside the Head of Centre, with regards to various operational issues to ensure a healthy and safe working environment.
  • Develop personalised pathways and bespoke learning opportunities that foster growth, confidence, and achievement
  • Provide feedback to commissioning schools as to how a young person is progressing.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven ability to build respectful, positive relationships with young people
  • Experience working with vulnerable learners, including those with SEMH needs or previous trauma
  • Ideally a track record of safeguarding experience and safeguarding systems.
  • A track record of implementing strategies that lead to measurable progress
  • Deep understanding of how young people learn and how to adapt teaching accordingly, in a way that they might not engage with or be able to engage with in a larger mainstream setting.
  • A clear empathy and desire to help young people in their future life journey.
  • Excellent administrative skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Be part of a visionary organisation making a real difference
  • Excellent CPD opportunities and career progression
  • Competitive salary with recognition of prior service
  • Excellent holidays (not term time only)
  • Health care package and discounted gym membership

Please note that all appointments will be subject to enhanced safeguarding checks.
