Support Workers provide person‑centred care to children and young people in residential homes, schools, family settings, and community environments. They assist with daily routines, support independence, and promote wellbeing through therapeutic approaches.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, person‑centred care tailored to each child’s needs.
• Support daily routines including school runs, homework, meal preparation, personal care, and bedtime routines.
• Plan and facilitate activities such as sports, arts & crafts, baking, film, outdoor adventures, and community events.
• Help children manage emotions and behaviours using positive therapeutic approaches.
• Build trusting relationships with children, families, teachers, social workers, and other professionals.
• Record observations accurately while maintaining confidentiality and professional standards.
• Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and the rights of every child.
• Serve as a calm, reassuring presence during challenging moments and celebrate breakthroughs.

Qualifications and Experience

• Previous support work experience is welcomed, but a caring, patient, and passionate attitude is essential.
• Ability to adapt and remain confident working across a variety of environments.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and build positive relationships.
• Reliable, professional, and ready to make a difference.
