Summary
We’re looking for a passionate and caring Support Worker to make a difference in our Supported Living service in Cwmfelin, Swansea. We have 34‑hour and 37‑hour positions available, with an 8‑hour sleep‑in shift extra. (There is some flexibility in hours and working patterns).
Day shift schedule:7:00 am–3:00 pm / 3:00 pm–11:00 pmSleep‑in shift: 11:00 pm–7:00 am
- A full UK manual driving licence is essential to drive Motability cars.
- Due to the specific needs of the individuals we support, this role is only open to applicants who are biologically female.

About the Role
Tucked away on a quiet cul‑de‑sac, this service is home to five men and one woman with physical disabilities. Each person lives independently in their own self‑contained ground floor flat, with the added comfort of a close‑knit, supportive community and a welcoming on‑site office.
You will work alongside these individuals to promote day‑to‑day independence, build their skills, and assist with everyday activities, while offering emotional support. You’ll help them attend the gym, rugby games, or shopping trips – no two days are the same. The team follows the Active Support “do with, not do for” approach, empowering the people we support to live on their own terms.
Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care, medication administration, cooking, household tasks, and cleaning.
- Support attending appointments, accessing local groups, participating in hobbies such as walking or hiking, and engaging in meaningful activities.
- Build positive relationships, provide emotional support, and encourage enjoyable experiences.
- Help manage finances, improve household skills, and grow confidence.
- Collaborate with the team, contribute ideas, and maintain high standards of communication and documentation.
- Adapt to individual needs, including occasional lone working and bringing fresh perspectives to improve the service.
Skills and Experience Needed
A background working with people with physical or mental health needs is desired but not necessary, as full training and support will be provided.
Requirements
- IT, numeracy and digital literacy.
- Experience working as part of a team and with people or customers.

Pay and Benefits
£25,877 (£13.45 per hour).
- Sleep‑in rate: £62.64 per 8‑hour shift (approx. 1 per week).
- Enhanced DBS (paid).
