Job Title

Specialist Teaching Assistant for Deaf Children and Young People (BSL)

Vacancies and Location

3 vacancies available across Worcester schools/ settings.

Salary & Hours

£20,083-£24,508 per annum, 32.5 hours per week.

£8,109-£9,450 per annum, 12.5 hours per week.

£4,216-£4,913 per annum, 6.5 hours per week.

Roles

We are a highly regarded, friendly team supporting deaf learners in mainstream settings across the county. This is an opportunity to join us as a specialist teaching assistant working with deaf children or young people in their educational setting in Worcestershire.

You will work with Qualified Teachers of the Deaf/Multi Sensory Impairment, an Educational Audiologist, Specialist Practitioners, and setting-based staff.

Qualifications

We are seeking to appoint a committed, experienced and highly motivated specialist teaching assistant with excellent interpersonal skills and the confidence to support and advocate for the needs of a deaf pupil. Experience of working with children/young people and a BSL level 2 qualification (or working towards level 2) is required. All necessary training will be provided and you will have a range of CPD and support within the team.

Ability to travel across the county is essential as there may be opportunities to work in other settings in future.

A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be undertaken and right to work in the UK documentation will be fully checked for all applicants.
