Overview

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

  • Maintain and enhance public spaces through grounds care, including lawn maintenance, planting, landscape upkeep and litter removal, ensuring safety and cleanliness.
  • Perform tasks such as grass cutting, strimming, hedge cutting, pruning, bin servicing, litter picking, and shrub/flower bed maintenance.
  • Conduct daily inspections using vehicle and equipment check books and HAVS records, following the Driver/Operator handbook for safety and compliance.
  • Comply with traffic laws and relevant regulations relating to duties, including load security and weight considerations.
  • Adhere to depot site rules and participate in ongoing safety, training and development initiatives.

Apprenticeship Programme & Training

Apprenticeship programme provides practical and behavioural skill development, including technical and professional knowledge to progress in the career. You will receive guidance from colleagues and, by the end of the apprenticeship, industry-standard training and qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Essential: GCSE English and Maths (C/4 or higher).
  • Course: Horticulture or Landscape Construction Operative (Level 2). Level 2, Route: Agriculture, Environmental and Animal Care (Intermediate).

Working Arrangements

  • Working Week: Monday – Friday. Shifts to be confirmed, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
  • Expected Duration: 2 years.
  • Training Provider: Warwickshire College.
